Flight and Space
The exciting world of aerospace comes alive through the Flight and Space unit. Students discover the history of flight to explore the science behind aeronautics. Students will use their knowledge to design, prototype, and test a variety of flight related projects. Students will create hot air balloons, use computer software to design and then construct a flying glider and design a prototype of a Robot to be used on Mars. Custom built simulation software also allows students to experience space travel.
Energy and the Environment
In the Energy and the Environment students are challenged to think big and look toward the future as they explore sustainable solutions to our energy needs and investigate the impact of energy on our lives and the world. They design and construct model alternative energy sources and evaluate options for reducing individual and world energy consumption.
